WorkOfficially™ is built to prevent scams and chargebacks through layered controls, not a single switch. Each layer reduces a different kind of risk, and together they make abuse much harder.

The layers

Escrow-first funding - clients fund milestones into escrow before work starts, so money is committed and protected.
Payout clearing hold - a clearing hold before payout reduces the window for fraudulent reversals.
WRK on-chain irreversibility - settlements paid in WRK are recorded on-chain and cannot be reversed like a card charge.
3-D Secure on cards - card payments use 3-D Secure to confirm the cardholder.
KYC - identity verification deters bad actors before they transact.
Stored delivery evidence - deliverables and messages are retained to support fair dispute resolution.
